While creating this set I focused on drawing inspiration from Howard Hughes/aviation, the Industrial Revolution, war era, & old world/vintage glamour. I also wanted to bring in modern elements, such as a models from the Fall 2010 Burberry & Fendi collections. I chose these in particular because of Burberry's giant-collared shearlings and furs, military-drab overcoats and the leather strap/ buckle detail on the boots... and for Fendi's utilitarian silhouettes with 50's inspired circle skirts.

While creating this set I focused on drawing inspiration from Howard Hughes/aviation, 19th century space travel, the Industrial Revolution, war era, & old world/vintage glamour. I also wanted to bring in modern elements, such as a model from the Fall 2010 Burberry collection. I chose this particular one because of the giant-collared shearlings and furs, military-drab overcoats and the leather strap/ buckle detail on the boots. I felt it had a very retro modern & aviation feel to the look.

Sci-Fi, Space & Vintage Futurism take the lead in this retro-fantical window.

I wanted to play up the whole "Vintage Futurism" in a Science Fiction/space age effect. The Chanel look is very retro which is juxtaposed to the whole "Star Wars" & alien invasion thing going on in the sky.

I chose this particular one because of the 50s inspired sophisticated daywear such as tailored wool coats, fur & pencil skirts.

I chose this particular one because I felt the brown tweeds and fur would be appropriate for "modern day" luxury travel wear (at least in Karl's world, anyway). I also thought this fall collection would be a nice showcase in an upscale holiday window.
